I’m thinking of buying the MagnaFlow #12266 muffler single in dual out on my 07 1500 5.7. Does anyone know if that pipe after the cats where the 2 pipes merge into one through that crimped connection reduces performance? It’s like 2 2.5” pipes into one 2.5” pipe under the passenger door.

Yes, the factory Y-Pipe is a point of restriction. If you take a look at the Kooks Y-Pipe and some of the other aftermarket performance setups you can see how they redesigned the pipes to help eliminate the restriction for much better flow.
