So i went to my local exhaust shop and they told me they would rather make my truck true duals the whole way back (muffler would be a magnaflow 24") than to fab up the magnaflow y pipe?

has anybody tried this? would i loose any low end? let me know what you think.

my buddy did true duals and he seems to think he lost some back pressure and it hurt his performance but we ligned our trucks up and where still even when we hit it, mine is completely stock as of rite now...

That's what I have on mine. It performs and sounds great. There is a slight improvement on throttle response.

I'm thinking of going true duals when I do mine, 2.5" pipe, x pipe, and two CherryBomb extremes. I talked to a rep at a muffler company and they said I'd be fine with that set up.

I think the x-pipe is the key with true dual setups, to help scavenge exhaust from either side.

Yup make sure to put an x pipe if you do true duals i think ive seen some people say they loose low end when they just do straight pipe into the muffler with no x pipe before it

Biggest thing I noticed was stock put the truck in drive it starts rolling after my true duals and x pipe you have to touch the gas to get her rolling. I feel like I lost alittle low end torque. I'm thinking about doing a 2 and a half into a 3 inch single pipe all the way back then doing 2 and a halfs over the axle for my dual outs. Do one muffler in the 3 inch before it splits again. Gas mileage maybe 1 worse.

So rather then weld in a $30 part, for about $30 in labor. They want to build a complete custom exhaust. Interesting.

More labor and more tubing equals more money for them.

Ive got duals with a Magnaflow Crossover X-Pipe into Dynomax Bullets. The x pipe is helping you with back pressure and any exhaust work will affect gas mileage. Its not going to hurt you a lot but any performance mod affects it till you get a tune.

Magnaflow makes a mid-muffler and x-pipe in one if you didn't know.

Is there actually any performance gain seen from replacing the stock muffler over stock?
