Got into the truck this morning and cranked over the engine, pressed the brake pedal to shift into reverse and i got a warning for “Brake Fluid Low” with the pedal going to the floor with no feel or response to the brakes at all. Hit them a few times, came back. I go outside and look under the truck to see that the drivers side brake caliper leaked all over the ground and the tire, master cylinder reservoir is close to being completely empty.

What gives? I just spent 2K replacing the trans. Brakes were done around 10K miles ago.

If it's leaking fluid out of the caliper check for the banjo bolt to see if it's still there. Common error is to install two copper washers combined with under or overtorqued bolts.

Good suggestion already. I learned the "two washer " issues the hard way years ago.

Boy you are just having all the luck lately.
Clean it all up, fill it up, and see if it's coming from the caliper piston(s), banjo bolt or brake line itself, or maybe bleeder screw.

I will add, that I just replaced all the calipers on my 2014, and it has 2 copper washers, one between the caliper and the brake line and one between the brake line (the 'banjo') and the banjo bolt.

Tell me about it. I feel like 2020s *****.....

And i checked it, that’s where it was coming from. (banjo bolt) I’m gonna spend tomorrow trying to fix it.

Its an easy $20 with of parts between, bolts, washers and fluid. Glad you got it tackled!

Now if any of you install new calipers and you can't bleed the system Then you did what I did originally and didn't pay attention to the side specific front calipers

Here is the dead give away.

1. Air will not bleed out of the system completely. Its likes to give you 50% to 75% of the air out.
2. The bleeder screw needs to be the higher side of the caliper when installed. If the bleeder screw is on the bottom you have found your problem. :D

I should been more clear on the washers. Its when two washers are stacked one top of each other at the banjo bolt. Usually symptoms when this happens is leaks at the caliper.

Ah, gotcha. I've seen that caution before about using 2 washers and I was a lil confused. Definitely make sure the old ones come off lol.
