MDS help

Now I've been seeing and reading a lot about how to get out of MDS mode and one of them is the manual shift method but idk why but when I do that mine only shows 5 gears on the dash i can't shift it to six...if I'm on the highway and try to shift from 5th to 6 it just sits at 5

From looking wasn't there a 5 speed Ram in 2011? Mine easily goes into 8 and turns it off. I don't normally do it but my truck does make a noise when in MDS so I wanted to confirm in was MDS and not the truck so I've turned it off a few times to confirm.

Yeah our 2011 Hemi's have a 5 speed automatic transmission

I was under the impression you have the 5 speed in 2011.
2012 is the same trans, but programmed to count an additional low gear only available in manual as a true gear.

If I'm right then i believe it was 2013 the 6 speed came out but didnt last that long until the 8 speed came into the picture

It should go from 5 to D. There are only 5 speeds that year.

The 6 came out in 2012.
