Personally, think MDS is a PITA, hate it, always hated it, whether it be in RAM< GM, whatever. Big 3 should offer a "button" to turn off, as all dat stuff designed for Fuel Mileage. But alas, bet U never see a button. I have read there is a button to turn the start/stop off in new high end Rams with the E Torque? Since I have a "lower" trim reg Hemi, LOL< do not know...

So in town, I just use gear selector, just me I guess...................

I'm right there with ya brother!!!
I bought a Hemi to have a Hemi,.......not a half a Hemi! lol

It does make me feel better though to hear that the GMC and Chevy guys hate their AFM as well. They say it sucks. Although, I have read on the new GMC trucks, their AFM is really seemless and no noise. The people reviewing it said it was hard to notice it and if you didn't know you had it, you would never know.
The Ford guys have it the best though. Ford always have the best mods and supporting mods for different things. They have the AUTO STOP/START on their trucks. BUT!!!!!,....there is a module made that will not shut the truck off at stop lights or stop signs. Pretty awesome. Plug and play pretty much, without swapping out PCM's and/or a tune.
We Ram guys need something like that, instead of replacing PCM's and getting a tune on our trucks.

I'm just going to post this one update. Remember, this is only my own personal experience with my own truck so I certainly can't speak for anyone else or their truck. Anyway, I decided to deactivate the MDS by pressing the gear selector buttons. What are the results of this vs. leaving the MDS active? Absolutely zero difference whatsoever in the way the truck sounds, drives or feels. When I step on the gas, the truck gets louder. When I let off, it gets quieter and I can feel the transmission downshifting. So again, I can't speak for anyone else but from my own personal experience, either the people who say the MDS feature is really annoying are over-analyzing a very minor feature and blowing it way out of proportion because or something is actually mechanically wrong with your truck. Perhaps on the 2018 models, the MDS is more seamless and less noticeable or perhaps, although very unlikely, the MDS on my truck doesn't even work and it's just always in full v8 mode. If that's the case, I'm surely not going to complain. All I can say is that with my truck, the feature is completely undetectable and anyone riding with me or driving my truck can attest to that. Again, my own personal experience so just take that for what it is. In no way am I trying to imply that any of you who do have problems with this feature are just making this up because subconsciously, the idea of an almost 400 hp v8 engine even having an eco mode makes you cringe.
Right there with ya. As I’ve gotten more familiar with driving my ‘18 over the past few months, I’ve gotten much more sensitive to its mannerisms. I can tell when MDS kicks on and off, but it’s really mild and doesn’t bother me a bit. I turn it off with the gear buttons for several miles before my neighborhood bc i live in hill country near Austin, TX. Other than that though, the truck stays in normal operating mode and uses MDS as it sees fit.

I will say this, I was swimming in a cesspool known as a Ford F-150 forum a few nights ago. There are several owners complaining about the Start/Stop system not engaging or re-engaging properly, and leaving them struggling to pull out in traffic and getting them into all other sorts of weird/hairy situations. I’ll take my constant running, MDS loaded HEMI any day of the week!!

Coramie nailed it regarding the three different gas/emission systems. My son's 2018 F150 coyote engine shuts off when he comes to a stop light. It re starts when it senses the accelerate pedal. Horrible and down right dangerous in heavy rush traffic area's. How long will that starter last. But like Ram the engineers included an off button on the dash. They knew this one would **** people off. Must reset each time you get in. F..... ignorant socialist bureaucrats.

Yeah, I'll take the Hemi over the F-150 any day as well.

The F-150's have a plug and play system that disables the auto start/stop feature completely. No more shutting it off or turning it on. I wish someone would create something like this for the Ram trucks.
I'll just post the video I saw on Youtube just to explain it better. (This is not my video for the record. I watched it as I was interested in how they disable that horrible auto start/stop feature.)

No problems with MDS here either. 2015 with the Corsa cat back. I’m reading a lot of complaining, I don’t think it’s that bad, barely noticeable. I do get he eco light an slight, very slight difference in audible tone.

The Corsa and also the Carven exhaust are the best/better systems that are tuned not to be obnoxious with the MDS whereas Flowmaster,Magnaflow and most of the others sound like **** with the MDS on. The ECO light just indicates you're driving in an economical manner it doesn't have any connection to MDS. You can disable the ECO light completely and it won't deactivate MDS.

So, I emailed Range Technology yesterday after work. Unfortunately, they don't have anything for the Ram truck newer than 2011, but that may be a blessing in disguise.
A forum member on the Mustang forum told me that the GM guys have been having issues wit that product and to run away from it. lol
So, that product is a no go.
