My guess is he has the 32 gallon tank option.

I hate when people start comparing how many miles they get to a tank... that doesn't mean anything unless you are 100% sure you have the same vehicle with same tank size. What matters is MPG!

Well, he is gwtting 18.75 or 23.07 mpg either way, hence the trade proposal.

Mine is fairly accurate. Maybe .5 off.
same here, I've been pretty impressed with it actually!

You guys getting 18+ mpg make me sick! All I can do is assume (and hope) that that is with 2wd trucks, and/or street tires. I avg 11-13 and have seen up to 14-15 on the highway, and I always drive with my wallet, feathering MDS as much as possible. All in all I'm happy with it though, it's much better than my last truck, of course it was supercharged and required premium gas... I never saw over 11 mpg in it, don't miss that at all, but it sure was fun!

I have the 32 gallon tank in a 2wd Tradesman model. I put 29-30 gallons in it when I fill it up when almost empty. I've been getting right around 20 MPG in mixed driving this Winter but hope that will go back up to 21+ in the Summer. I get around 23 to as much as 24 at 55-60 MPH. Interstate driving at 80 plus makes the gas mileage plummet. Consider that I'm an old fart and drive like grandpa. My teenage son that only knows two speeds, wide open and stop, gets horrible gas mileage in the truck. No matter who's driving though, the gas mileage showing on the EVIC isn't all that far off. Yes, it's optimistic at all times but not that much.

While towing, my EVIC showed 10.0, but I calculated 12.8 at the pump. Sweet! Anyway, one problem might be my odometer readings seem off. I just tested using mile markers, and after driving 10 miles, my odometer only read 9.6. I did the test twice. That's only 4% off though.

I agreed that comparing the two doesn't work, but most people don't think: "I get 15mph so I can take my 32gal tank and get 480miles out of it", no they drive it for a while and realize their average distance on a tank of fuel is 500mi. Yes, the size of the tank is important for comparison reasons, but most owners, including me, care more about how far they can go with what they have and they will state that. It's no different than asking 'what's the best CAI and everybody will tell you what they run'.

I just wish I was still getting the 700kms I used to get, but since the supercharger went on I'm getting 450-500kms on a tank . It hurts when I was able to nurse it down to 12.2L/100km and the best I've ever seen on my EVIC is 14.9l/100km. But, then there's the "smiles per gallon" that needs to be computed as well :naughty:

I have a fuelly and keep my own spreadsheet for fill ups in my 2007
I also keep track of my time traveling to calculate my average speed as well as what my overhead console says
I've only had the truck for a little over a month but for the 2,566 miles I have entered into my spread sheet already my displayed avg MPG is 7% off. I only have 8 fill ups so its hard to point out trends but it seems like it is farther off with a lower avg speed. The closest its been is 3.1% from hand calculated. The worst its been off was 34.3% on a fill up that was 184 miles with an avg speed of 20.9 mph.

After my first 3 fill ups it has typically been 3-4.5% off

I've been driving my dad's '11 Ram Hemi this week and the real time MPG display is killing me haha
His EVIC read 19.5 mpg on my way out to work (240 miles) which I was kind of disappointed in as I have seen as high as 21 mpg on other highway trips and I usually get 21 in my Cummins

Mine's off by about 1 mpg, I find the more time spent coasting seems to make it more optimistic.

Getting a solid 19.5 actual mixed driving with a few WOT here and there, with an 8spd and 3.21's

Just posted a nasty 7.2 mpg. Towed from 4300ft, up and over 9200ft, down to 6400ft, and back again. I had my travel trailer(7758 measured), and quad in the bed(~500lbs) with 23 gallons of fuel.

Mine is consistently off by ~2mpg (only 7 fill ups so far). Disappointing, because I factored the EVIC calculation into my buying decision. 2mpg is going to be around $40/month for me.

I keep track of mine on fuelly, in the comments I note what the evic says. Most of the time mines is around 1 mpg off but the higher it reads the more it is off.
