I have the 5.7l Hemi and 26 gallon tank. I didnt think 391 miles was bad for a tank full. DTE said I had 25 miles but It only needed 22.8 gallons to fill. How low does the DTE go?

My understanding is typically the light comes on with 2 gallons left but I have also heard 50 miles. My 6.4 comes on with about 50-60 miles left but there is still about 5-6 gallons left and about 11.5-12 MPG that is pretty close. My wife has a Subaru Crosstrek that averages about 30 MPG. Hers also comes on with about 50 miles left so close to 2 gallons there too. In your case you had about 3 gallons left and at 18 MPG thats 54 miles so not far off there either.

The fuel light on all the Ram trucks I've owned have come on with about 4 gallons left in the tank. I was never able to put in much more than 22 gallons on either the 2015 Tradesman or the 2017 Rebel (both 26 gallon tanks), and the most I've been able to add in my 2020 Laramie is 19.4 gallons (23 gallon tank).

I do not know. My philosophy, and what I’ve drilled into my kids heads is, “it doesn’t cost anymore to keep the top half full than it does the bottom half”. If they ever ran out of gas it was their problem not mine, don’t bother calling me.

I always fill mine up every payday unless I have fuel perks that I'm going to use. Since I work from home I only go through about 1/2 tank every 2 weeks average so mine rarely goes below 1/2 tank. I know in the end it's all the same but I really hate spending $80 to fill it up so would rather do it at 1/2 tank twice as often...lol

I get 368 to 410 MPG showing in EVIC. I took a trip to NJ in Aug 2018, and the fuel light just came on when I pulled into Gas Station. Put over 24 gal in a allegedly according to build sheet 26 gallon tank. My trip avg on Hwy was 22 mpg, cannot complain, hey it is a HEMI, LMAO.....

I consider how much fuel I am going to use in a two-month timeframe and avoid having old gas or diesel to which I need to add a stabilizer. My truck is my least driven vehicle as my SUV gets 50% more miles per gallon and my Prius gets 3 times the miles per gallon. My "fleet" average is 27 mpg but the actdual number depends on what percentage of the time I drive each vehicle during the year.

My gauge low fuel light comes on when anywhere from 65 to 130 miles is left to travel, according to evic. Dont know why it varies so much mileage wise

I get 400+ miles without the fuel light coming on. I don't like to wait till the light comes on.

I haven’t even bothered tracking it personally. I have too much fun with the fun peddle. Even still my avg is 15-16 on the display.
