Last Ram I had was a 2013 Express with a Hemi. I had a diablosport tuner with a Hemifever custom tune, CAI, exhaust and JBA shorties. I had put one of Moes Ported 87mm TB’s on it and remembered it making a difference. My new Ram is an 2018 Big Horn with a Hemi. I’ve done a CAI and exhaust but am not planning on messing around with a tuner or headers. With that said, any performance benefit to adding a 87mm TB to this setup?

Not really. It will give you some better throttle response but even the 6.4L engines use the same throttle body. If you want a great throttle body for a little bit cheaper look for Jason Dauria on Facebook and tell him the Todd Kenny sent you. He makes his own ported throttle body. I have it on my 13 1500 and it made a difference in terms of throttle response for sure. Plus he provides great customer service and stands behind his product. Not that Moe’s doesn’t as Matt is a great guy as well.

what i heard from the years being on here was that you wont notice the difference having a 87mm without headers on. i still have the 85mm tb & vr intake which makes a difference

I second Jason dauria with elite hemi performance. I’m running his. It’s a great throttle body. Moes is not bad either.

What mods do you have on your truck with his throttle body? Similar to mine?

I have a s&b intake and Borla catback exhaust, 190 tstat and v6 fan. Not tuned. Noticed better throttle response with the throttle body as well as truck feels like it pulls better mid throttle. Less sluggish. Working on getting tuned for everything but truck is in the shop... I have 35s that are heavy on my truck so any gain is nice for me.

I think for the price, and if you don’t want to do PCM swap and custom tune for big $$$ for big gains...

Pulsar is a good choice. It gives you crazy throttle response on 8, disables MDS and adds about 25 ponies. Uninstalls in 5 minutes without hampering warranty.

I found one used for like $300 (can’t remember) money well spent.

You've used both of them, correct? Can you share any insight into why one over the other?
I can’t argue one over the other. Both worked well at increasing throttle response. Both have a slight bump in mid range seat of the pants feel. I think moes opens their throttle body slightly more. Theirs is ported all the way down to the butterfly where Jason ports his with a taper. He tapers his from just above the butterfly up a little then opens it all the way up. Jason also polishes his. I think moes is a slightly more aggressive port job and I think it would depend on your choice. And each trucks setup may react differently to each ported throttle body. I have heard good things about fastman as well. my truck is basically stock. Just a CAI and catback exhaust with v6 fan and a 190 tstat. Plans on running long tube headers and custom tune. And possibly a cam.

I'm basically right there with you on current motor mods - CAI, catback & shortys. I'm going to be picking one of these TB's soon, then a custom tune.

I'm not on FB, so I'm not familiar with the Jason/Elite Hemi Performance TB. Thanks for the info.
