Had heavy rain the thru the weekend and yesterday and went out to my 19 and noticed the back seat cushion felt damp. I don't think it was a 3rd brake light leak or shark fin leak because the headliner feels dry. I won't have time today to pull down the seat backs for a closer look. Also because the dampness is on the actual cushion I don't see how the rear window would be the issue.

If anyone had a similar problem can you provide information on what caused it so I can get a jump tomorrow on what was found. I may go ahead and reseal the shark fin and 3rd break light regardless to save possible future headaches.

Interesting I am no help but following !
Only thing I can think of is were the back widows open for awhile side or rear glass ? ?
So far never heard anyone mention a damp seat from the rear vents !
Do you have any kids that may have had a accident :O ?

No to everything. I've actually have only opened the rear window once which was to ensure it operated correctly when I purchased. The head liner being totally dry really has me baffled. I may get some clues once I can fold down the seat backs tomorrow.

the weather here went form great to damn , so wonder if its just humidity
Put a paper towel on the seat and see it it collects any water. I don't really see how it could be wet unless a window was down a bit , rear window , the floor should be wet under the seat, same with brake lite.

Was the seat down or folded up? I presume it was down.

Get your window checked - i had the same issue with my 2019 rebel - only happened at first in heavy rainfall, then after a couple years the smallest rains would leave drops on the seat. They had to replace the entire rear window assembly - the leak was not from the brake light or roof, but micro fractures in the glass itself

1. Had to replace the gasket on my 3rd brake light this year - water leaking on top of back seats (maybe from the ceiling light, not real sure but I was sure when it entered the truck. Headliner wasn't wet.)

2. Had to seal the roof marker lights on my truck this year, as well. This one took a bit longer to figure out. Water coming out of the grab handles on the pillar. Finally determined every gasket they use in these trucks eventually turns into a sponge. I'd have gladly paid more to have them use good gaskets on all the lights :disgust:

Rear window leaks are a common problem on 5th gens. Had it happen with our 2020 Limited. There is a warranty extension for many 2019 thru 2021 models…
