Hey guys I have been running a set of morimoto projectors for awhile now. I recently bought some new headlights because the insides of the modded headlights started fogging up. So I saw this as an opportunity to mod the projectors. The first thing I wanted to do was paint the beam cutoff plate a noticeable color. Like red or green. The color will show through the lens when the headlights are off. You guys have any suggestions on a color? Btw I have blacked out headlights.

The second thing I wanted to do was to do what's I believe is called a color flicker mod. What it does is it creates a purple/blue line where the projector cutoff line is. Normally it's just a normal line the color of the hids. Looking at it closely it is actually the whole color spectrum but the purple and blue are more noticeable. Here is a pic of an example.

From what I have read there are washer in between the lens and the hid housing. You take the top washers and put them on the bottom or vice versa and it causes the lens to bend the light a little more causing the color. I am unsure if this affects the light output but I wouldn't think so. I plan on testing this before I do any permanent installation. In the mean time have any of y'all come across this mod?

Thanks

I have. :D

On the painting of the shield, paint that entire plate. it will help with reflection.

But, don't expect too much out of it, its not REALLY noticeable when done.

Ah gotcha. I think I saw a few pics of the ones you did. Its dark behind the lens and it just doesn't reflect the color.

What about the lens mod? Does it even work on the mini morimoto h1 projectors?

There is a forum out there, actually a couple. While there is hate on the MH1 projector, there is also a lot of good information out there on them. Look there for your information.
