Anyone know in PA? Law seems to only point to smoked “covers” from what I’m reading.

Not sure on law but I can imagine that as long as they arent hard as crap to see no issue. I'm in ohio and have had completely black tailes for 2 years no issue.

For example I also run 5% tint no issues. My wife got pulled over in the middle of bfe for it just because he was bored basically said he tagged my truck ***** been 18 months no more issues. I say do it. Also side not have you seen the thread about those? Seems to be a lot of issues with them. I bust my right rear and looked at them as a replacement recently. After all I read I went with cheap xtune smoked tails. Look exactly like my current ones and I've never had issues out of them. The do block most of the reverse light though so I got a opt7 because dim light +5% over the factory privacy glass in the rear = cant see **** behind you at night lol.It would ruin my look if I’m forced to go red lol[emoji31]

If you buy aftermarket lights and they are "DOT compliant" then they are legal to use even if are a smoked lens color. Some manufacturers put that the lights are "DOT approved", that is technically not the same as compliant.
If you modify a DOT compliant light by tinting then it not longer meets the requirements. Chances are you won't be pulled over for a light compliant issue unless the cop is a major DB or your doing something stupid.
A friend of mine got ticked recently on the Penn Turnpike for tinted tails (F150), but the tint was heavy, so not surprising. Funny enough, we saw a Subaru with slightly tinted lights fly by when we were pulled over. Go figure.
I'd think the smoked Morimotos should be fine if you dont add tinting to it.
Nah, no tinting being added. Just how it is.
