I have a 2011, 5.7 with the engine management system. It runs great and I truly love the truck, first Dodge PU I've owned, but 11 mpg seems excessively bad. The only mods are the 35 inch tires on factory 20 inch wheels. Somebody please tell me there is something I can do to improve the mpg. Any constructive input would be appreciated.
Did you adjust the gauges for the larger tires?

The more and more I see what MPGs some of you guys are getting with stock trucks the more I smile lol .... I get close to 15 in town quite often which is probably 14 in reality and close to 20 on highway with the 37's on some 20x12s with 4.88s muahahaha !!!

That's as good as you will get around town ... you might get int he high 13s if you do a lot of freeway driving .. also if you have the stock gears, 3.21s, 3.92s , you are not going to get the correct MPG ....

With 35s you should really consider regearing to 4.56s if you want to improve on your MPG and also correct the speedometer if you haven't already ...
Right!!! Mine didn't move when I put my lift on and added 35".... Makes you really wonder hoe some of them are driving their truck cuz I don't baby mine and my fuel consumption it pretty good considering what others are getting.

Just sayin', I went from 66# 305/55 Falken Wildpeaks to 39# 275/60 Michelins and gained an instant 2mpg. Now the Falkens are for sale, at least until gas his $1 gallon again....

Are you 2wd? Just curious how you’d get 4.88 in the front if you’re 4wd

You can't put 4.88's in even the earlier AAM (corporate) 1500's front diff, and yes he's 2wd.Don't get him started ;). I think Dilligaff will have alot to say,if this carries on :waytogo: :Big Laugh: This has been already argued to death ,hopefully it doesn't start all over again. The only way to put 4.88's under the front end of a 1500,is to swap to the earlier 2500's solid front axle, and lose the 1500's IFS diff

Are both of you hand calculating MPG or relying on the lying dash readout for MPG?

I use the fuelly app on iPhone to calculate every fill up.
