I was what kind of mileage your getting with your 6.4? I have a 2016 Ram 2500 6.4. during the week my wife drives it to and from work, 2 miles from house and 2 miles home. My wife drives like granny. The truck is showing 7.1mpg. That really sucks.

If I drive my 2019 6.4 1 mile to work and back home, that is about what I would get also. I do get a little bit of highway driving on every tank though which helps some but still sucks compared to the Cummins equipped trucks I always used to have.

At the DropBox link below is a dandy fuel consumption calculator, if you have Excel, I made up for my company fuel card. I like to know how much fuel I get through out the year so I can sometimes get extra fuel for my mower, jeep, or 4-wheelers. You can see by the big dips in MPG are the days I got an extra 5 gallons.

Anyone can zero out what ive filled in and apply to your usage. Dont use delete because formulas are built into the spreadsheet.

At 2 miles each way you are not going to get very good mileage. There is no cruising speed nor is the truck even getting up to operating temperature.
^^^ That ^^^

I notice my MPG goes up noticeably after my engine has warmed up. When I start it, I usually let it sit for 30 seconds or so before putting it in gear, then I hit CC at 40 MPH for about a mile until I get into town. During that first couple of minutes my mileage is like 5 MPG; by the time I get through town a few minutes later and put it back on CC at 40 MPH it's up to about 20 MPG.

Sounds correct.

And it is cold both times.

The engine isn't getting up to operating temp.

Two miles each way, may be time for a non fuel option. Mileage is going to always suck and it is hard on vehicles. Personally, I have an electric pedal bike that would be perfect for that distance of a commute. If I only have a couple of miles to go, I use it all the time, as long as there is no ice or snow.

For a 4-mile round trip commute, I'd be looking for something other than an HD truck. And really, the option of an electric vehicle in that case isn't a bad one. Even if it only gets about half the advertised range of most of them (averaging around 300 miles, so 150), she would get 37 trips back and forth to work IF it didn't have a parasitic drain on the batteries. Regardless, you're looking at likely a couple WEEKS worth of trips before you'd even need to plug it in.

If I'm on the highway it's about 14. In town about 11-13. Pulling my boat, 10.

I run R-95 renewable in my 2007 5.9 Cummins 4wd. I just filled up and my overhead's reading 23.9 on the lie o meter. It's probably getting 21 mpg. That's freeway coming home from North County's Carlsbad to San Diego. The truck runs way cleaner and gets 2+ mpg.
