I’m stuck between the Cooper Discoverer STT Pro and the Firestone Destination M/T2 both in 35x12.50R20. Anyone had either of these tires and if so, thoughts? Thanks in advance guys!

I really like the coopers. Had them on my last truck and really liked them.

I hated the Coopers I had.

Terrible uneven wear which required constant balancing, noisy tread and they were a crappy wet weather tire. But that's just my experience with them.

I’m searching for tires too. I’ve learned one thing. You’ll get reviews from one end of the spectrum to the other. Best tires ever, 100k miles, no noise, on my 3rd set... all the way to crap, loudest tires ever, bald at 10k, won’t buy again. I’m just going with the ones I like.

I have the STT Pro's on my 2500 6.4 Hemi crew cab. Have just over 36k on them now. Wear has been great on a heavy truck. I was hoping to get 40k out of them when I bought them. From the looks of them now, I think they might go 45k. I have them in 305/70/18 which specs to 35.1 x 12.4. They are loud, but doesn't bother me.

Wow! How often did you rotate them?

I second the “don’t go with M/Ts unless you really need them.”

I have the Cooper Discoverer ATPs on my 1500 (275/65/20=34x11.5). They ride well, have worn evenly, balance well, and have a decently aggressive tread pattern for an A/T tire. That and they didn’t cost an arm and a leg.

i had the coopers on a wrangler, and they were fantastic. Never held mud but had a nice tight lug pattern so that they weren’t too bad on the pavement. I’ve always wanted to get another set, they just are a bit more expensive than I want to pay for tires anymore

I will also say don't go with a MT tire unless you're planning on doing some serious off roading. Check out the Hankook Dynapro ATm's. That's what I just bought a week or so ago and they're great! Pretty aggressive tread pattern for an AT tire, they're quiet and balanced well. Also did not cost an arm and a leg.

I may go with the atp’s. I’m not really into a super aggressive sidewall. They look clean. You sound happy with them.

30955335-C0FC-46FA-8C07-5C433F6654ED.jpeg If its the “look” your going for, plenty of options. Me personally, i didnt want tire roar and huge gaps in road contact from an MT. Just wanted a meaty AT tire, dirt road and some snow. Without having to go BFG $$$. Take a look at the WildPeaks, they gave me what I was looking for and a 55k mi tire. Mild sidewall lugs, acceptable noise, good road traction dry/wet. My .02

I've got the Cooper STT Pro's and can't say enough good things about them.

They were more competitively priced than the comparables. They are lighter in weight than the comparable.

They aren't as noisey as other mud terrains I've used. Never have balancing issues with them and the tread doesn't seem to want to wear down or wear unevenly.

I'd definitely buy another set.

Just had the Firestone’s installed today bought used with 1500 km on them all of them balanced great the most weight it called for was 2.5 oz
They cleared except on full lock with out any spacers I am running 33x12.5r20 on stock sport rims they are not that noisy so far considering the tread depth / design
