So I'm trying to figure out which muffler to install. I'm leaning toward Flowmaster's Super 44 or 50 series and removing the factory resonators. Price is definitely a factor. Want to stay sub $200. My neighbor just did the 40 series with res delete for $150 or so.

I've YouTubed umpteen trillion sound bites. Now just want to open up a can.

What are the forums' thoughts?

My vote is for a delete. Turn off the MDS and enjoy!

I bought the Flowmaster off Amazon for around 260 shipped, but havn't installed yet. It's a little over your price but no install cost, easy to do yourself.

I know it's over your price range but I plan to do the mufflex magnaflow direct replacement muffler. Magnaflow is high quality and zero cutting or welding involved.

Just be ready for rust on the flowmasters after winter. I ran a 40 series on my 02 and it sounded nice but it rusted easily. Put a magnaflow on it with a cut out later on and the magnaflow had very minimal rust after a couple years. The cut out was way better than either muffler.

How did the MagnaFlow sound compared to Flowmaster, and which was louder?

Thanks for the opinions. I did hear the Flowmasters had rusting issues. I could always wait and save a bit more for the Magnaflow. The direct fit would be nice so I could just do it in my garage. Mods are great even when just talking/dreaming about them!!!

Flowmaster was louder. I think the magnaflow was a longer muffler overall in length anyway. But the flowmaster sounded nice and throaty at certain RPM's. That's the one thing I remember about it lol. This was on a 4.7.

The magnaflow was quieter because when I put the cut out on behind it, I could either open the cut out and be loud, or close it and run the exhaust through the magnaflow and have it be quieter. 40 series was loud/deep/throaty. Magnaflow was deep but not as loud because it was a longer muffler.

Hard to really tell a difference on YouTube. Both sound pretty badass to be honest. But that's YouTube and you don't get to experience the dreaded drone...or lack of.

Magnaflows too, after a couple months mine was the most rusted part of the exhaust
