Good choices!!! The Vararam is most noticeable during WOT and at highway speeds. Just tooling around town you probably aren't going to find much difference in performance.

I've never had an S&B before so I don't have any experience with them. That said, they seem to be pretty popular, I think second only to the Vararam although I'm not positive about this. I think performance wise the Vararam is the better CIA unless you are racing every weekend and then the Legmaker is probably the CAI of choice for serious racers. The Legmaker I have seen is like the one Matt used with the additional carbon fiber piece that goes directly to the opening next to the grille. He removes the filter for racing only.

I want a new muffler, is hard to decide on sound by sound clips, one I liked best was the mufflex 18, but the 24 might be more practical to me. I want a v8 sound, trucks so quiet now. I hate drone, so maybe 24 is way to go.

My Vararam is a noticeable difference compared to the S&B it replaced around town unless I'm really really babying the truck. It's not earth shattering, but enough of a difference that I'm glad I switched. That and I could never get my S&B not to rattle against the AC lines and wheel well liner on rough roads so I gave up on it after a year of messing with fitment.

If you don't want drone, you can use either muffler with the rest of your stock system, including the resonators. That will make for a nice tone but will certainly cut down, if not totally stop, drone.

I'm aware that a tune would optimize it. but like i said not during the warranty. unless the pulsar road works out.

You're going to love the Mufflex 24. I've been running mine for 5 years and it's the perfect upgrade over stock but not obnoxious. Quiet until you get on it. It's much louder you would think being the "quietest" of the Mufflex kits.

Seriously considering a Vararam......

I've had the 24" Mufflex around 3 years and I still like it. Not too loud but when you get on it you definitely know it's there. And you know your truck has a V8. Some drone but not terrible but if anyone can find one with zero drone and it still sounds good it would put all other muffler makers out of business. i.e. they don't exist.

I put the 24 on my truck over the weekend and like it as well. More managable than when i had a carven progressive (loved it around town, but hated the drone). Mine is paired with the S&B intake, Moes TB, and a Jay Greene tune. Love the responsiveness now.
Moe’s 5 inch black tips add to the tone of that muffler too.
Corsa would be the only drone free option that i know of.

I would suggest Borla Pro XS. It's most likely comparable to Magnaflow 18", but it doesn't drone. I had a 14" MF and it was a drone monster. Switched to Borla...great sound was still there, but drone was gone.
