Mufflex help

Just installed mufflex 14 and clamps seem to be tightened down as far as they go but water is still leaking from joints. Any suggestions. I would assume if water is leaking. Exhaust is leaking

I installed the same Mufflex used the high temp silicone as instructed and mine leaks a little too. I only hear it leak at idle so I guess I can live with it.

Buy a better set of clamps from your local auto parts store.

I sheared the bolt off of two of the three Mufflex clamps trying to get mine tight enough.

This is so frustrating. Getting sick of this aftermarket junk. It seems like you cant buy anything that work the way it suppose to. Maybe ill get it welded.

Were are u setting the clamps.

Did you use an impact wrench to set the clamps? Hand wrenching doesn't really get the crunch down to seal pipes. Need to crack 'em down with an impact gun. First shot is your best shot.

I'm sure if I used an impact wrench as instructed it would have worked just fine.

I had to use a socket set and a piece of pipe to get enough leverage... and eventual breakage.

use the SS 3" wide band clamps, next best thing from welding.

You have to use the clamps that are welded to the hanger, just slide them up the pipes. Summit racing carries the 3" wide stainless band clamps for lap joints; their approx $10.00 each---- 1- 3" and 2-2 1/4". I'm in Canada and partsource carries the Accuseal band clamps and we pay $15.00 each but it's worth it especially if you want to switch around your muffler like I did. Went from 18" Maggy to 14" Maggy to a Cherry Bomb Extreme. No, the clamps that it comes with don't tighten enough and their 1" wide.

From what I gather the Boesch Built Magnaflow kit comes with nicer hardware. Mine is in transit, I'll do a full review to show ya guys the step up in quality that I'm expecting to see..
