Towing my Jeep the day after I got her! The v6 with the 8speed did great.

Is any one else rocking the v6? I got some crap from my off road buddies but 25mpg in a crew cab was hard to resist.

tint matched the rear windows and got a new hood ornament.

Can i throw 255/75/17 MTs on with no lift? they are only 32.1 vs 31.6 so I assuming no issues there.

What is the real headlight bulb size as I see h11 ans H13 listed and is there is a suggested bulb to just get a cleaner white, and not stock yellow. I have HIDs in the Jeep but didn't want to blind people in the Ram.

I only have the Uconnect 3, is there any chance of adding a bluetooth device for my phone or some type of remote for the radio as I miss both of those on my steering wheel from my last truck.

It has just been a week of owner ship and I am loving it so far! I need a tonneau cover, and maybe some oem mud flaps and chrome grill inserts if anyone is selling. It won;t let me post in wanted yet...

also from what I am seeing it looks like the only bumper cut outs I got would be for tow hooks, but since I have the Jeep for off roading I was thinking of throwing some fogs in those spots, any one done this? thanks

Hey, great looking truck!
I shopping for a full size truck, have a Tacoma now. Really considering the v6 pentastar, towing a 3, 000 lbs boat. Sales people trying to talk me out of v6... could you please write a little review about your truck , and how is the mpg on real world! ?
Thanks
David

So I have had this about 5 weeks now. She towed the Jeep and trailer at 5700 lbs with no issues. Only place I really felt it was a steep on ramp to a toll road. I consistently get 20-21 mpg and that's a good 50/50 highway and in town. I have averaged as much as 23. The only thing to get used to is the 8 speed. If you go to punch it to change lanes real fast it seems to get confused and revs high as it has to downshift like 3-4 gears. lol It has soooo much more room then my Nissan Frontier did and gets better mpgs and I have the same payment. How could I complain? Most annoying part is all my drunk redneck friends talking $hit about it being a 6 shooter.

You AVERAGE 20-21 mpg? Wow, that's much better than I figured they would get.

Still more HP than the 318s or 360s offered 10 years ago, and with the gearing of the 8 speed tranny vs a 4 speed, more effective torque at the drive wheel.

Of course, I drive a Hemi now and have long forgotten getting by with a lifted 1987 with the 318 and manual tranny, so I still get to look down my nose at you. ;)

low 20 MPGs is a considerable improvement.
I wonder what a Reg/Short 2wd would do.

I've been very impressed with my MPG / HP ratio.

with a little work you can make that v6 work for you off road... leveled and some 33'' 35" MTZ or what ever would be sweet.. let them laugh, when your off roading getting 20MPG when theirs are maybe getting 10MPG lol whos laughing now :p

great looking truck!!

My Jeep is for Off roading, my RAM is for getting groceries. LOL!! I actually think it would suck to wheel with the 8 speed as it wouldn't give enough power at low speed.

It's nice to know you are happy with your truck. Congratulations

Not to be negative. Just a differing point of view. I have a 2011 QC Hemi 4x4 w/ 3.92. On the highway, (not combined average), I regularly get 19 MPG on flat ground.

I travel almost every week. I get to rent a lot of cars. I've driven cars with the Pentastar in several different models. My wife has a 2 door 2012 Wrangler, manual transmission, with the Pentastar. This is a great engine for Chargers, Challengers, 300's and Wranglers. My most recent rental was a 4 door Wrangler w/ 3.73, auto and the Pentastar. It's a HUGE improvement over the previous V6/auto tranny combination. However, anything Heavier than a 4 door Wrangler and I would want the Hemi

I think the biggest change/improvement Dodge could make w/ the 1500 Pentastar combo would be to add the 6 speed manual trans used in the Jeep. First gear is really low and the 6 speed manual makes the best use of this engine

I have the v6 with 8 speed and absolutely love it, perfect for what I need a truck for. I haul wood some appliances from time to time and pull a trailer with kayaks and canoes. I work in downtown Atlanta and have a 30 mile stop and go interstate, city street commute, I have put over 2k on it in a little over 2 weeks, average on each tank is 20.3 mpg in my driving conditions.

The 8 speed shifts perfect in city traffic, allowing you to not sacrifice fuel economy by being between 3rd and 4th all day like my buddies 2013 Chevy. He got the Chevy because it was rated 18/19 but with the tranny it's more like 13-15 real world in these conditions, mine is 20 no matter what I'm doing, it drops to 18.5 while towing.

Not really, 1st gear on the 8 speed is like 4.7:1 or so, 2nd gear on the 8 speed is still a lower gear than 1st on the old transmission.

Your MPG numbers are impressive. I have an 01 Tacoma XCab 2.7 4cyl 5 speed. I get 21-22 MPG with 90 percent highway driving. I'm considering buying a leftover 13 Tundra or Ram. LIke what see in the Ram but have concerns about build quality vs the Tundra. I know what to expect from the Tundra, not so sure when it comes to the Ram or any of the others. I will say the Ram is nicest looking out of all of them.
