So I just bought myself a new 2018 2500 Laramie. I have remote start and locks and my wife drives the 2012 Tradesman I bought new years ago. She says she loves that truck and I believe her but it doesn't have remote anything and uses a regular ignition key to start it. We moved into a new house several months ago out in the country and while the temps are the same as they were at our old place, the lack of a wind break makes it feel much colder. I enjoy the benefit of stating my truck from my kitchen and she still has to bundle up and go outside to start hers.

Can anyone recommend a good remote lock/start setup for my 2012 Tradesman? I'm not interested or concerned with trying to go OEM, I just want something that works. Being able to install it myself would be a big plus so a simple kit would be nice but isn't a deal breaker if I have to have it installed.

I've been looking at what Best Buy offers. Plenty of good reviews.

You could give her the Laramie or be a good hubby, and go out and start it for her every morning, just saying...

There are a lot of threads on remote start, U just need to do a lil research...

My wife's truck doesn't have a key fob, just regular keys. I appreciate the responses so far. I called a local shop that did the tint and bedliner on my 2500 and they quoted me $275 for remote start and $300 for remote start and remote locks.

That's pretty reasonable and probably money well spent.

I just installed mine two weeks ago, took less than an hour, pretty simple and straight forward, ebay link below, I'm in a 17 express, so your may be little different but the guy I bought from as other flashlogics that cover other truck years.
