When I first started looking into lifting my truck, I started with 4". It really depends on how much you have to spend. After looking through this forum and taking a lot of advice from the good fellows here, I'm going with 6" suspension lift and 1.5" body lift. So really, I would set a budget for yourself first and then go from there. A lot also depends on what look you want to go with as well.
I don't have a lift on mine but have been reading a lot about them on this forum. When i get one it will probably be a Zone 4" with Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks up front to level it out. From what I've been reading the Zone is a quality lift that is middle of the road price wise. I priced them and found it for around $1600 with 3 inch coils in back and upgraded rear shocks. If I remember correctly that was also free shipping to the lower 48. If your truck is 2wd MaxTrac gets love around here. They're also a sponsor of the site. If you want to see a 1500 with 4" Zone and Bilsteins go to the sticky at the top of the "lifted" forums "show off your lifted 4th gens" go page 29 and look at Flyguytki's truck. That's how I'd like mine to look. There are some nice 6" lifts with either 35" tires or 37s that look real good too.
Yes 4x4 an some were between 1500 an 2500 dollars is were I'd like to stay was looking at rough country's 4 inch suspension lift that supposed to lift an level but haven't seen anything on here about rough country

You won't unless you read someone telling you to avoid it. Some people on here have had bad experiences with RCX and some have had good luck with them. Some people have had some components break and the coating rust quickly. A lot of people would probably recommend BDS or Zone lift kits.
Rough country gets mixed reviews around here. Look at liftkits4less. They have the Zone 4" with 3" coils and upgraded rear shocks for $1498 with free shipping. They also sell Rough Country if I'm not mistaken for even less than the Zone.
I looked at the Superlift and it looks good and is a decent price but says it requires some trimming. I'm not sure what needs to be trimmed or if Zone requires trimming but I'd rather not have to trim anything if possible.
