My wife's 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Mountain (murded out) Edition does not have a gas cap. Apparently too many people have forgotten to tighten down a traditional gas cap enough after fueling which throws the check engine light.

There is a reason there is no cap. They don't want the pressure.

Funny how many people freak out about no gas cap. Ram isn't the first to not use them.

There is no problem with using an cap with seals on the "capless" filler. There is a vent on the backside of the fuel filler assembly, so pressure (also vacuum) build up is not an issue.
Despite the diesels having a seal on the fuel door, you can still get water and dirt sitting in the filler neck.
