I just about creamed my jeans today. Taking about a very sexy truck.....

That's gotta be one 'spensive truck right there. Is that the Praire color? For some reason I really like the Praire and Western Brown.

I have made the decision for a Ram 2500. I just on one hand can't choose between the 6.7L CTD or the 6.4L Hemi.

If the diesel didnt have to run def id go withit , however alot of the guys i know regardlesd of brand are having trouble with them loading up. I have been happy with the 6.4 its all i need it runs the trails and has plenty of power for all my needs.

I'm very happy with mine. 6.4 has been good enough for what I need it. I had the 5.7 and the 6.4 is a lot more powerful plus I have the mega cab which is a lot more roomier on the back. I can't complain I love my truck. Now I just need bigger tires and a lift to make it look like a beast.

Now finding out that Ram will no longer give a 5yr/100K warranty on the 6.4L Hemi Gas Engine, makes me almost just go buy a Ford Super Duty. With the DEF Crap. Maybe I should just rebuild my truck that I have for less than 25k .

Since when? I just looked at their website and it still lists 5yr/100k for all gas engines.

This what I got from my dealer for the 2016 Ram Trucks;

Hi Patrick,

The Power Train Warranty on Rams with Gas engines will go to 5 year 60K Miles. It appears the Cummins Diesel is still 5yr 100K.

We'll be happy to help with your trade in when you are ready to move forward.

Thanks again,

Ralph

I've never had an issue with my 14 RAM CTD. No emissions problems, no DEF issues, it has tons of power and I've never once thought it needed more "pep".

Yeah, I never had an issue yet either.

As far as the pep thing my biggest complaint was not with the engine power, but the throttle setting. The drive by wire throttle felt dead to my slight inputs unlike cable driven throttles on diesels I have had prior and it needed to be pressed a lot further to get the power that was there. I know they do this for fuel economy reasons, but it felt like crap compared to other diesels I have had. I bought a BD Throttle Sensitivity Booster and the problem was solved. The throttle responded to my inputs instantly and the lag was just about gone. I was pretty happy with just that modification until I got the tuner bug about 2,000 miles later. I ended up stacking my throttle sensitivity booster on top of the EDGE JWA. She drives almost perfect now with gobs of torque on tap(as if there wasn't enough before). If only I could tune the transmission mapping then I would be completely happy.

I just got done talking to a friend of mine that bought a 2013 Tradesman he has the CC 6.4bed. He bought just after the 14's came out says he has no problem with the DEF and only has to fill the tank every 2500 to 3200 miles. He said he keeps real close records because he is a hunting guide so he can write off every penny.

Note added....His truck is a 4x4 and has 3:73 rear end. I forgot to add that.

See I don't have that problem and I've owned diesels back to 2003.

My father in law said the same when he drove my truck stock. He is still in the F350 6.0L PSD he bought new back in 2003. I let him drive on the way back from a fishing trip we had not to long ago because he kept commenting how 3.42 gears are too tall to tow. We were only towing the boat which is only about 4,000 lbs and I turned the tuner to stock for the first 50 miles. He was saying how the tuner I had really livens up the truck and gives it lots of power. The look on his face when I told him it was in its stock setting (besides the throttle booster) was priceless. I told him to press the button on my CTS screen until it says tow. I don't know what face was better, the one when he found out it was stock or the one when he had when when tuned. He was like a kid in a candy store the rest of the way back.

Although he did say that my throttle was too sensitive for him when the truck was in a tune, but it was exactly how I like it. I am one of those that wants more power if there is some to be had. The stock power was perfectly fine, but leaving it stock just isn't in my nature.

How often do you need to add "DEF" and how many gallons does your truck carry.(tank capacity).
Thanks.

A 2.5 gallon jug of DEF (that you can buy at Autozone) fills roughly 3/4 of a tank. My truck came with a full tank of DEF and I just filled it with the second 2.5 gallon jug that the truck is still using. In other words in over 12000 miles I have only filled it with 5 gallons and I still show 3/4 full on my DEF gauge. I also have a 4x4 crew cab BigHorn.
