ive been looking for a muscle car to get and i found this camaro i plan on taking a look at it tomorrow.
hows this look to yall and is there anything common to go wrong in this car? what are some things i should look for?
My dad used to own an IROC when he was about my age and had to sell it when i was born, I think this might be a great fathers day present.

1988 Chevrolet Camaro IROC

Looks nice, I don't know much about them but I do know that the T-tops are known for leaking.

you can reseal them, i wouldn't imagine them being hard to do, just add some door sealer to it and boom, my friend had that on his camaro, then he did that and it worked

My biggest area of concern on 3rd gen camaros is to check for rust in the t-top center section and the A-pillars. They're really bad about rusting through the A-pillars and those are $$$ to get fixed.

Convert, for now.

my biggest worry woudl be verheating. My son had an all stock 1986 with a 305 TPI, and it ran hot stock...now add a 400 SBC ( which some say are notorious to overheat due to siamesed cyliners, would make me worry it ran even hotter than stock.

Mine runs around 180-190 all the time. Just gotta make sure all the air deflectors are there.

i like it, if i could afford it, Id bring my Mechanic and look at it. He specializes in FBody builds. My last was a 98 460HP rwhp... this 88 could be a beast..

If I were to buy it, I would go for the deal with the stock wheels. Those wheels in those sizes look stupid imo. Save yourself a grand or so, and you can put that toward a set you can pick out.

Definitely get all the paper work on the build. And see if he's on any forums and go through all his threads. Make sure the air deflector under the bumper is there and that it has a good cooling system in place. My 86 firebird with a 350 had a e fan and never ran over 190. Also looks like he swapped in 4th gen seats, make sure those are firmly bolted down and secure
