hey yall
i just bought a 1999 dodge ram 1500 with the 5.2. i was driving it home and it wouldnt go into overdrive untill i got 5minutes from home then it worked. most of the drive was highway it was a total of 30min drive. the next day drove it and no over drive again and the tranny slipped just a little. the truck sat for 6months before i bought it. im thinking of changein the fluid and filter and then adding some transX to it. just wonderin if because it sat for while that its got to just be run and it will be fine or if it will need a rebiuld. next week we will do the fluid and filter and then run it. we have to replace the rear main oil seals first. is there any reasons for no over drive for a while and then it works?
