Hi all!

Just bought a 30' TT and am thinking I should upgrade my hitch. I understand the OEM hitch is only a class III? I may occasionally tow other trailers and was thinking about getting a class V. Rock Auto has one with a 2" receiver rated up to 17k, 2550 TW. I like the specs, but they drop down below the OEM receiver. Doesn't this look rather stupid? I mean, don't you give up precious ground clearance? How have y'all dealt with this problem? I welcome suggestions!

I thought the OEM hitch was a class V. Try doing a build sheet on the RAM website.

A class V may be overkill but I like the specs on them too. Nothing wrong with a little safety factor.

I'd suggest you drop the OEM receiver off the truck and get a class V that bolts directly to the truck frame and tucks under the bumper.

etrailer.com has a huge selection of receiver hitches to choose from.
