Does anyone have a photo of the area where the steering column enters the dashboard on a 2004 dodge ram? The dealer did some work on the ventilation system and left off the tilt lever. In addition, I now can see the interior behind the instrument panel when looking at the top and bottom of the steering column. It seems to me that there was a rubber boot or some sort of plastic shroud that concealed the opening between the top and bottom of the column and the area behind the dash? I could use some photos with the steering wheel tilted down and tilted up to see the detail of the area above and below the column.

Thank you.

If the dealer did the work then I would immediately take it back and demand it be fixed.

Thank you. I am taking it back to the dealer today, but wanted evidence if parts are indeed missing. I really appreciate the photos, but it's hard to tell -- is there some sort of boot or trim behind the instrument panel above the steering column (and below the column). I've attached a couple of photos with red arrows showing the area where I think some trim or rubber boot or concealment trim might have been -- I just can't recall. But it certainly seems the gap between the steering column and the instrument panel is much more bare and open than it was before the work was done. Warm regards,

Andrew

I looked at the your photos again -- am I correct in that there is a concealment piece above the column (that I'm missing)? Your photo of the underside of the steering column shows the area being assembled -- when assembled is there a extra piece that goes behind the bottom kick panel to hide wires and such? Thank you.

No. There isn't any rubber boots or "trim" to close out the gaps on the top or bottom.
