Found this truck....
2001 dodge ram 2500 odometer: 111 automatic transmission title : clean
I have a 2001 dodge ram 2500. It has 111,*** miles on it. It has all fisher mm1 hook ups but no plow. Needs new shocks. It's is a great truck for the money.
Thinking about buying it. Not sure, need some advise

Is it a diesel, does it have maintenance records, how much are they asking, the more details you can give the more help we can give.

Okay. It is a gas engine, he says it's a v8 but not sure other than that. there are no records for it.. Deff needs new shocks and some rust repair asking 2500 in going to offer 2000 it needs work.. I'm finding out more details shortly

That sounds like a pretty decent deal, depends on how much work it needs. I bought my 2001 Ram 1500 for 3000 with 172k on it but it was in pretty awesome shape except for the paint, I did some fast/easy paint work and replaced the master brake cylinder and sold her about 4 months later for 4000.

With no maintenance records I'd try to get it to a mechanic and have them give it a look over, better to spend $100 now and not buy it than to buy it and spend a couple grand when you discover the problems.

If you looked at the pictures u can see it has rust on rockers/fenders and needs 4 new shocks.. He said "No maintenance
records. My dad has done all the work to it" he also said "I want you to know that it needs work and every light on the dash is on. People text me wanting a mint condition truck where it's a 2001

What does the fluids look and smell like, oil, trany, rear ends? Pop the hood that will give you a idea if the person took care of it or if the just beat the **** out of it.
Things I would look at.
Fluids
Batterie
Fuse box
Interior, windows and locks
Head liner
Tie rods
Axles
Drive shaft
Bed condition
Smell and feel all your fluids burnt is bad in all cases....

I'm going to look at it again tommorow to inspect everything more carefully... As it was a plow truck what should I look for to see what was abused?

Plow truck? Pass on this one unless you want to dump a ton of money into it. Plow trucks get beat pretty good and it looks like this one hasn't been that well cared for. I traded my 2000 V10 2500 4X4 in on my 2012 and it was so clean the dealer gave me $8,500 for it. This one looks pretty rough IMO.
