I've been tirelessly researching the market and various dealerships to find the right truck with the right deal. I've narrowed my search to a used '13 longhorn laramie 4x4 w/ the 8 speed transmission, however, it doesn't have the convenience package or 4 corner air suspension. It only has 9k miles and is in prestine condition. The other is a new fully loaded laramie 4x4 that comes with the 8 speed transmission, 4 corner air suspension, convenience package, and tons of other options. The only goodies this laramie doesn't have is the step rails and spray in bedliner. I could get both for the same price, around $41,500. Which is the better value?

I would get the new laramie. Just due to the fact of it being a brand new truck, plus all of the other options.

Low 40s doesn't seem like too bad of a deal either for a fully loaded truck

Your scenario is a no brainer, but for example buying a little older used truck may make sense. None Cummins dodge trucks don't really hold their value well, you can get a real nice truck in the 30k range with low miles.

I just bought my 2012 Ram 1500 SLT, had 35k miles on it and only spent $20.5k. Great condition too. But if they are the same price, just go new!

I'd go with the new one, especially seeing that you can get it at the same price with the options that it looks like you want. Its not the "Longhorn" but thats just styiling anyways, its no more capable then anything else.

Buy a used truck from a private seller if you can. Dealer mark up is $2,000 to $3,000 on a used vehicle.
