Makes sense. Why I don't go through auto car washes unless they're brushless. Never did trust those things.

I don't know if this was mentioned yet, but I just use a pair of needle-nose pliers to loosen the base of the antenna and tighten it...

Resurrecting this thread as I have a similar issue, but in my case, the entire black base of the antenna is loose, how is this piece held on to the fender? Can it be tightened with the silver castle nut or does the fender liner need to be removed?

I have not messed with fender mounted antennas on our Rams

With other vehicles, you could detach the passenger side right foot kick plate & reach up to change out the cable that runs from the radio over to the Antenna base/mount.
You may be able to follow that cable to where it passes through the panel at the glove compartment
