I have a completely stock '08 2500 4x4 w/6.7 Cummins. Just bought it 2 yrs ago. It's never even towed anything. I need to improve my mpg. Towing a 33' bumper pull trailer.
What's the single best thing I can do to improve my mileage .
I'm getting less than 10mpg. This is not my first Dodge diesel and they all did better than this. It has only 168k miles.

Any tips on releasing the wiring harness of the fuel rail sensor on my '08 Ram 6.7 Cummins? I can barely get my hand back there.

Speed, tires, and aerodynamics are your major contributors. Speed is really the only one that's a no cost option to control.

Low rolling resistance tires properly inflated (which will mean a harsher ride but less rolling resistance) will make a difference on the highway. If you have off road oriented tires, mileage will suffer. Heavy tires will be worse for economy than lighter ones, but given the weight of your vehicle none of them are going to be exactly light.
