I need a new fender on my 2011 ram due to rot on the lower portion where mud flaps where going to attempt to paint myself. I will also need to repaint the rear cab corners in the summer once i cut them out and replace as they are rotting aswell. Does anyone know a good place to get paint? I used automotivetouchup once and it was really pricey and didnt match paint to well on my old truck.

I believe the term will be "FCA certified collision repair center". If using an external painter they will communicate the contact. As for a DIY paint match, best of luck to you.

Of course it wont match 100% but I have painted a few things here and there normally comes out decent/close enough but last time the paint was so far off. I dont wanna waste $150 on paint again from the same site just tryna see who everyone else uses I am not the only one who trys to paint their own vehicles :D

Green isn’t a tough color to get a 6 foot pole match.

While I'm not an auto painter, I did paint metal commercial doors and windows at work.
I replaced 10 year old fender and tailgate on a ford I had, with aftermarket parts. Went to a recommended auto paint store, with a piece of the old fender, and I got a great match They were very helpfull. Not perfect but nobody noticed until I pointed it out. Online paint match is a crap-shoot. Of course, You will need a HVLP gun and a compressor and the right supplies. I kept the check from the other guys insurance, and learned something too.
Its your truck and 10 yrs old.

Yea already have paint gun compressor ect the thing is no one around me sells auto paint so it basically has to be online. For a 2011 its a shame these things rot so easy most new cars do i guess cheap thin metal.

I get my paints from "house of color". Simply the best paint company out there.

Blue Mule
Will check them out thanks

Kosmoski is one of the coolest people I have ever met. Worth millions, doesn't act it and isn't afraid to jump in and get dirty with you.

I don’t know where you live it could be very remote but often times auto parts stores like Napa also sell automotive paint in one section of the store. Are there any body shops in your area? Ask them where there’s comes from.

I did a fender on my Jeep with rattle cans from Amazon, matched using the paint code. It was just a temporary thing while waiting to do a full repaint. It was OK, but nothing you’d mistake for original. Which probably has more to do with my lack of painting skills than the materials used.

As mentioned try your local Auto Parts store ! My PT job also mixed paint for dealers and body shops ! They have a Paint gun and will read the color on your truck and should be close to the faded 2011 paint

I only have autozone and advanced and they dont do that. My napa went out of business RIP appears to be a finishmaster location bout 30 mins from me going to give em a call. AS for body shops normally they want to paint it and probably wont be willing to mix paint but worth a shot i guess.

Thanks for suggestions guys.

Their buying there supplies from some local place. A body and paint shop cain't survive from having to order online.

I've been using https://www.automotivetouchup.com/ for years and never had a problem. I'm really surprised you had problems. I think they are one of the best around. A lot of parts stores are equipped to mix paint if you have the color code. Sometimes when you rattle can things, if you set your expectations really high you're probably going to be disappointed. IMHO

Idk last time or 2 it just didnt match at all when i got it from them . I just ordered paint for $120 and a fender i am not expecting it to be perfect. Anything is better then rot holes lol i would try to fix the lower portion of my fender and only paint the bottom but this cheap **** metal is really to thin to weld or anything:mad:

I agree--most all manufacturers quit using "real" metal a long time ago---LOL
