Needing older software version

I have a 2014 Laramie Limited 3500 4x4 crew cab...... my backup view is in the mirror. I purchased a wiring harness from Infotainment that would move the view to the 8.4 display. Yes it did but only if I push the cargo view while backing up.

I'm told since my system upgraded to the 18.45.xx that it cannot function like I expected. Simply said, I'm told I need to go back to a 17.xx.xx version to make this work. Infotainment wants like $200 and send them the radio to get it right????

Anyone else have this problem with a 2014 and how did you address it?? I have no idea why Ram would put the backup view in the mirror so small it doesn't help with a large screen right there that was stock.

Sorry I can't help with your question but I find that extremely odd as well that the backup display is in the mirror. I had a 2013 1500 sport with the 8.4 and the back up cam was displayed in the 8.4. I would have to ask if someone moved it to the mirror with an aftermarket setup but I don't understand why anyone would do that?

Hope someone here can help you get it figured out, once you do have it displayed in the 8.4 it will be much better/more usable.

AFAIK there no way for the end user to downgrade the radio software. Infotainment bought one of the nav repair companies that was capable of doing a radio software downgrade.

do you have navigation?if you do going back to the oder firmware will screw that up.is your truck a auto or six speed manual transmission? If it is a auto i think you should be able to fix this with the correct miror and harnesses.if it's a manual there is a thread with others having this problem not sure if it got figured out or not.
