6.4 hemi
so I have had my truck a little over a year and the 6.4 hemi is treating me well
I have just over 17k miles and seem like every time I drive it I like it even more
So I decided to make some changes that I like in the truck
a couple weeks ago I ordered an amerihood ram air hood and an S&B cold air intake
I dropped my hood off at a local body shop that I know does great work
And he took it in yesterday and installed the intake and the newly painted hood
Now the air box on the S&B is more of a triangle shape so the hood don't completely seal to the box
But where the air discharge from the hood is going
It's dumping into the box
So I did leave the plastic top off of the cai box
At the moment I am going to drive it this way and see how it goes
Then I might put the lid on and see if it makes a difference
I guess my fear is that it might be sucking in hot air
Anyways I love the look hoping it functions well only drove about 20 miles since I got it back but love the style
We'll get some miles and see how it goes
I paid $700 for the hood
$299 for the S&B
And he painted the hood and installed hood and CAI for $550
He did say that this hood was very well made and one of the best fiberglass hoods he has dealt withDB71434C-C88F-48A8-8433-931071043E5C.jpeg DB71434C-C88F-48A8-8433-931071043E5C.jpeg

Sick hood! I love mine! I took the channel cover out so the air goes directly to my vAraram intake as you can see In photo . Gets as close to forced induction As u can get without supercharger or turbo! U could sell the s&b easy and or swap for a vararam . In winter time I put the “channel plate” back In just so salty air doesn’t get pulled thru filter as easily.

Varam won’t fit on the 6.4, but the K&N Cai kit should be a close enough match for the air dump under the hood. I looked at going this route with my 14 2500 6.4

Thanks guys
I love it so far
Even though it don't completely seal to the box
I love it
I was mostly after the looks lol
my thinking is that since it does sit very close to the box I think
That hopefully the air coming in going directly into the box
I'm hoping it pushes the air in and keep the box full of cold air
It's hard to tell how close the hood sits to the box for sure
I plan on running it for awhile without the lid then I'll put it on and see if it makes a difference

i have the vararam myself and was looking at this hood. But my question is how does it do in the rain? do you just put the cover back in before rain or what.

I do my best not to drive this truck when weather is rainy or snowy (she’s my garage queen lol ... however I’ve been caught in a torrential down pour before with this set up and had no issues . Don’t get me wrong i was worried as all hell but noticed nothing . In the winter I put the cover back in tho just to lessen the amount of salt pulled in to engine bay.

It probably takes in just enough moisture to steam clean the intake. I can't imagine it'd hurt anything. lol

It’s no luxury ... lol I have a beater car since I drive 100miles per day to work. This is my “forever” truck as my wife states so . I’m trying to keep it nice for as long as I can... but if it’s any constellation I called vararam and they stated they have never had any issue with vapor lock and don’t thing the scoop would allow enuf water in to cause any being sucked into intake unless truck was submerged and then your outa luck anyways lol

I have been eyeing this hood, basically because @BEAST19 has one sexy truck. I have also been toying with the idea of going with the 3" Duraflex fenders, in lieu of fenderflares.
