New and confused

Just joined and did a quick scan of the site to see if anyone else has my "lighting problem". First, it's a 1998 1500, 4x4, extend cab, 5.9. Fair condition, few paint issues, power seat only moves forward and back. I check that later. Main issue is when I pull the headlight switch, only running lights come on, but when I activate the high beam switch, the high beams come on only if I hold the lever. When I let go of the lever, no high or low beams. Checked the 40amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood...good. No fuses in the cab fuse box. Is there a relay some place else?
I'm thinking that I'll need to change: 1) high beam lever or 2) headlight switch or 3) headlight bulb. Anyone with any insight? Thanks for any advise.

Welcome to the forum.

It definitely sounds like you just have a bad headlight switch. Its a common issue with that generation. I have added a link that might help you out.

BAILY1--thanks, that did the trick. Bought the part from RockAuto for 13 bucks 20 minutes later I was done. You sure saved me time on the hunt!
