Hey guys got this baby back in December and I have been slowly restoring it and building it into a work truck/tow rig. It a 1985 with the standard cab and the 8ft bed D100 custom. 318 2bbl 0cfm carb, 5hp, 200ftlb, 727 tranny. Only mods to date are a full air horn set-up to replace the broken stock horns and bigger at's.
Started off with this
Fully stripped cleaned and bed lines the frame and under-body of the bed.
How it sits currently.
I am still very much in the process of restoring it and this is my current list from most what I am planning on doing first to last:
Beef up trailer hitch attachment points with a few more grade 8 bolts.
Fix some lighting issues in the dash.
Cut out and weld in new sheet metal on the wheel wells that have rust holes.
Spot patch the undercoat on the cab where is has worn away with bed-liner
Buy new rear tailgate
Re-paint whole truck flat, possibly satin, black.
New engine. Would prefer diesel but I know I can't afford it.
Dual batteries and a 120+ amp alternator.
As for me I love off-roading and working on trucks and suvs. I have a lifted xj that you can see in the background that I tow long distance with the ram. And thankfully neither of these are my DD I have a Saab 9-5 modded a little for speed as my DD. As I modify and restore this truck I will have lots of questions and I hope that the people on here can help
