So, I see similar threads, but nothing that answers my particular issue. I had what I believed to be a bad clock, spring, so I replaced it. Now, I have no power to my inverter, and my ECS light is on. And here’s the kicker, now I can’t turn the wheel all the way to the left, but I can all the way to the right. I even rewound the clock spring to make sure it had the 2 1/2 turns set before putting the steering wheel on. Alpha OBD shows an option for steering angle sensor for the 2009–12 non-power net trucks. Does anybody know how to do this for the power net trucks 13+?

**Update**

Using my OBDLink MX+, I was able to monitor the PID for the steering angle sensor. You have to go in the menu and display this page in order to monitor it. I zeroed the sensor manually and then reinstall it and the steering now goes full left to full right. Still does not explain all the other things going on. ECS light is still on, ABS doesn’t work, trailer break is disabled, and my inverter has no power.

For anyone that comes across this. Make sure you leave your steering angle sensor where it is and figure out a way to keep it there while you transferred over to your new clock spring. Or better yet, buy a clock spring with steering angle sensor already installed. Put a factory clock spring with angle sensor in and no more errors. Everything is working fine. Although my inverter does not work now, and I think that was because of the install of the offbrand clock spring.

LESSON LEARNED!!!

I did not know that they made after market clock springs. Always thought they were dealer only parts. Learn something new everyday.
