wanted to introduce my self, just got a 2017 ram 2500 6.7...well let me start by saying always wanted a ram so finally got one but been having bad luck with it...when i bought it only has 10k miles.. the power seat on the truck wasn't working, so it was part of the agreement for them to fix it, to make it sort, the truck is a tradesman model with possibly leather interior but now they found out the seats are not from that truck and the wiring does not have a power in the harness to power the seats, this is after the truck being at the dealer for 1/2 weeks and I've only had the truck for 3 weeks...i know i could of just ran the red power to the seats and it would of work but was part of contract for them to fix it... today i took a trip to the dealer to see what was going on with the truck and now they said truck wont even start an they have to try to figure that out...its been a nightmare..sucks because I really like the truck..just thought I would share my experience with you all...

I also almost have finished getting the complete package to delete the truck but now am having second thoughts..to even do it or wait some more..

Welcome to RamForum. Sorry about the issues with the Cummins. Hopefully the dealer can get things properly sorted and you get your truck back soon.

Sounds like someone swapped the seats in from a Laramie or something? Pretty sure there are thread out there with info on how to wire them up but I would let the dealer sort it out if that was the agreement. Weird that it won't start now though?

I'm in the don't delete unless you have to crowd but it's your truck so that's your decision.

Sorry for your troubles; hopefully the seats are an easy fix.

There's no real "need" to delete the emissions equipment. Just drive it for a while and think about needing more hp & torque. I haul heavy loads all the time, and have never wanted more power; it has so much already.
DEF is cheap and really easy to get. It's just not that big of a deal. My main irritation with the entire DEF situation is that they had to make the fuel tank smaller to make room for the DEF tank - doing a "delete" isn't going to make the fuel tank larger.

Now I'm going to put on my flame proof suit, as all guys who insist that the truck runs like crap and terrible mileage until you delete come out of the woodwork.

Either a theft recovery and/or someone dumped their junk. Suck to hear. Did you buy it from a RAM dealer.

So that may have been true for the early Gen 4 diesels (2009-2013? pre DEF) But the new ones won't gain you much of anything for mpg by deleting. I'll be honest, I follow all the diesel forums and I see more issues from guy's that delete then don't on the newer trucks.
Until my emissions stuff starts giving me issues my truck will stay stock (and it has plenty of power that way)

The seats are most likely a swapout as stated above. There is a facebook page called "Seats and Such" that sells them out of late model trucks. I'm just waiting for the right set to come along. They go for around $2500 for a complete front and rear set. They do warn about wiring not being correct in the tradesmans.

As far as the delete, take a look into a Stealth module. I've got one. Makes the truck run much better and won't void the warranty (providing you take it back out when you have to take the truck back in for service).

well got a phone call from the dealer and they can figure out how to start the truck now, they asked me if I had some type of alarm system because everytime they try to start it, it starts beeping and kills the ignition...they plug it up to there computer cant find anything wrong...I think am just going over on Tuesday and trading it in for a new one, this getting crazy...

I would push for 100% of your money back and go to another dealership if you buy new. There is no excuse for them not being able to figure this out even if they took in as used on trade and sold it to you. Their excuse of not seeing any codes and being dumbfounded on solving this really tells their lack of skills here. Your problem is solvable, they are just too inept to figure it out. Sad.

ok update....so went to the dealer and pretty much told them i was trading truck in and they had to refund 100% of the cost and down payment...so I ended up with a 2018 2500 long horn edition with 5 miles on it, they ended up giving me a great deal and throwing in extended bumper to bumper warranty for free...So lets pray this truck has no issues...because if it does i think am done with dodge...

Cool! Still going forward with the delete? If so, you can throw that warranty out the window for the powertrain.

i think for now going to hold up on the delete and working on getting bed sprayed, rims and a few other up grades so that way I can feel the truck out and make sure not going to have any other issues
