Hi,
Just bought a 2022 Ram 1500 Classic. V6 auto 2wd.
The 03 Silverado had too many problems to fix on a 19 and 3/4 year old truck.
If the dealer's salesmen weren't jerks I might be in a Chevy again but here I am.
Ford was never really a consideration : )
If I can lower the Ram a couple inches cheaply that would be nice.

Welcome to the forum... And if you get a chance, look for a recent thread about lowering the rear suspension to level your ride. May interest you...

Welcome.

The excitement of buying a new vehicle is extinguished by the thought of having to visit a new car dealer's showroom. I just don't want to do it.

This time around I went through the Costco auto program (I get Ford and GM employee pricing but wanted another RAM) so I thought this method was the most insulating. It all went smoothly by phone and Internet, I selected the model and options I wanted, the rep sent me the build order and pricing, I signed off on it and the truck was ordered.

I was trading in my 2013 Laramie so I did as they asked and sent them pictures of the vehicle, inside and out. They gave me a trade-in value and I excepted it. 8 1/2 weeks later they called and set up a delivery date, my new truck was in. After a test drive and a close look over we went to finalize the deal. Surprise, they changed their offer for my trade from $23,000.00 to $18,000.00.

I looked at the salesman thinking this is why I hate showrooms and salespeople, looked and my wife closed my laptop and put away my checkbook, told my wife we are done here. Stood up and started leaving. The salesman said what is the issue, I said, you are kidding.

He brought in another salesperson in an attempt to salvage the deal, he asked what he could do. I told him, honor the deal I made in the beginning. He spewed some crap about why the truck isn't worth that much. My response was good day.

My 2013 was a very clean truck, with no rust, low mileage, like new interior, and under a MaxCare Lifetime service contract with all maintenance done by RAM dealerships.

In the end, I got the deal I originally excepted and got another $2,500 off the deal plus a set of Mopar floor trays thrown in for the aggravation.

My wife's 2013 Equinox is due for replacement, she isn't sure what she wants but neither of us wants to go car shopping, we just don't feel like dealing with these you-know-whats. We can compare vehicles online but like any of us, she wants to touch and feel a vehicle.

A few weeks later, I googled the 2013's VIN and found my trade-in on the dealer's lot listed as a clean low mileage vehicle with service history for only $29,900.
