Just picked up a 2004 Ram Crew 2500 HD 4x4 Longbed !
4" Turbo out exhaust and a CAI -
Equipped with a 4" Susp lift , 32in Tires. Even came with a camper top and racks to boot!

I am going to miss my 99 GMC Sierra Crew SLT Shortbed 7.4L. I have been putting her to work for 4 straight years. But at 260,000 miles I just couldn't risk putting a truck that I feel is getting tired, through another season.

I'm still getting used to the sheer bigness of this Dodge but I'm really stoked about the Difference in Gas Mileage.
My 7.4 got 11-12 MPG unloaded and 8MPG Towing
This Ram is averaging 21MPG unloaded and 12MPG Towing a packed 24ft enclosed car trailer. (I Likey)

As great as this truck is on power and fuel economy I am disappointed in the slack rear leaf springs. The GMC only sagged about 3/4" when hooked up to the loaded trailer . This Dodge sags about 3"

Next stop will be to Four Wheel Parts in Charlotte to order up a set of helper springs or bounce for an Airbag setup. Opinions??

First off, SWEET TRUCK, congrats and welcome!

Did you have a lift on your old truck? That's what I am thinking is the difference. Since you are sitting up higher with a trailer you are going to automatically sag a bit more. If you got maybe a bigger drop hitch that will hook up to the trailer easier, that might make a difference. IDK if this is the case and I am just speculating here.

Timbren bump stops are another option
Either way it's going to take a but of fabrication to get a standard kit to work
How is the rear lifted? block add a leaf etc

Welcome!! This is your best bet. I have the firestone onboard air command load leveling air bags and love them. I can air them up with a push of the button on the go. So much better than the old firestone air bags I had on a previous truck that I had to fill up via a compressor. My buddy has them on (airbags, not sure or brand) his cheby and fully loaded towing his trailer (10K) plus gear and a few hundred lbs of firewood he is able to level his truck out, then air down when we head into town (so the rear isnt 4" higher than the front). Well worth the money IMO
