Hello I am new to the forum I just purchased my first Chrysler/Ram product. A 2012 ram express. I have been a chevrolet 2500 truck owner for 8 years and decided I no long need a 3/4 ton. So I went shopping for half tons and bought a 5.7 express. Now the disappointing part at 450 miles the 4wd, abs, traction lights came on. I called the service manager as the dealer ship is 75 miles away and he told me it was probably a wheel sensor and it was ok to drive. Brought it into the shop and was told they had to replace the wheel bearing assembly on one side and a wheel sensor it was a Friday so I did not get my truck back until Monday. Picked up the truck and drove it 15 miles lights came back on brought truck back. They spent a day trying to figure out the problem then decided to order a new computer. A day later the computer came in they installed it and called me to say something is wrong with the new computer will not communicate so they are going to order another one. Unfortunately I will not have my new truck which now has 1200 miles on it for another weekend. The weekend is the only time I get to drive my truck as I have a company vehicle. The dealership has been great just disappointed in the product at this point. anyway just wanted to say hello.

That's sad to hear as my 2011 has 50,000 miles on it worry free. It can't be that much of a difference between an 11 and a 12. Hop all gets solved asap for you and welcome to the forum.

You're just having some bad luck. I feel your pain, my dealership is over 100 miles away.
It SUCKS!

That being said, I've not really had any issues with my Ram. Hope your luck improves!

Welcome! Sorry to hear about the troubles. Most dealerships suck. My dad has to go about 90 miles out of the way to get his checked on. 3 turbos went in there. Just got to know which person to get.

Here's hoping your truck gets fixed

getting closer

Well they put the new computer in late Friday and the head technician drove it for the weekend. Service 4wd light is gone along with traction control, but abs light is still on and abs is not working. The head tech. is going to some conference today and will be asking around hopefully I will get my truck back this week.

That's crazy. I have the same truck as you, with 3500 miles on it now. No problems.

That does suck, I have almost 5500 miles on my Express and not one single problem yet.
I'm sorry you started off this way, let us know if it improves.

Well head tech put a new abs module on that did not fix the abs problem. So they got on the phone with Chrysler and I received a call today saying they traced it back to a wiring issue and it was ready. Picked it up drive 1/2mile service 4wd, traction control and abs lights came back on. Drive back to the dealers and will be meeting a with the owner tomorrow. At this point it's time for a new truck. It has been 21 total days at the shop and I have now returned it 4 times for the same issue. I guess we will see how much Chrysler stands behind there product.

Don't let em tell you anything else. Dealers can be hit or miss.
Force the issue that it's time for a new truck. You just got unlucky. The next one will be as rockin as the rest of ours. :)

Bad things happen - I'm sorry that it's happened to you. I am very hopeful that they give you a new truck - there should be no question about it at this point. Stories like these make me realize that if I owned a dealership, at this point I'd be begging you to come and give me your truck for a new one.

Just met with the owner he said he would contact the local representative Monday. He thinks Chrysler might want to send a tech to look at my truck. I told him to tell them don't bother I do not want the truck back. So it has now been 3 weeks without my new truck . Truck now has 1500 miles on it I have been having problems since 450 miles. I hope someone from Chrysler reads this. I was hoping the dealer would take care of me then take it up with Chrysler.

They should give you a new truck no doubt. I'd be raising hell. Got 12000 miles on my '12 express and not a lick of problems. Sorry to hear about yours. Hopefully the dealer makes it right.

Well spoke with Chrysler they initial said they would get the truck fixed but when I told them I did not want it back they said they would have someone else contact me. The dealership is not much help at this point. When I spoke with the women from Chrysler I let her know I was recording the conversation she was not happy, can't imagine why I would think they would be recording it too. Does not seen like Chrysler is going to make this easy they are going to try and make me take my truck back.

update

Well for anyone who is actually reading this I called the dealer before they closed and was told they had not heard anything more from Chrysler. Dealer did say they worked on the truck all day with a tech at Chrysler still can't figure out the problem. At this point typing is more of a way to relieve stress. I am currently on vacation so I have to much time to think about how I do not have my truck to drive and have another payment coming up next week. Chrysler just give me a different truck I would say new truck but my truck is new.
