I've been looking for a 2015 RAM Sport CC for a while now. I've got a long list of options I want it to have. I just can't seem to find one that meets all of my requirements. I DID find one that has every single option I want down to the color.......except it does not have a sunroof. I talked the dealer down to $9,300 off of MSRP. There is no doubt that it's a great deal but I'm just not sure if I will regret compromising on the sunroof. My current SUV has one and I don't use it much. I like the idea of having one more for resale value.

Anyone compromise on an option and really regret doing it? If I spend over $40k on a truck I want to get every option on my list but this is such a great deal it may be worth the compromise. Not sure........

I ordered exactly what I wanted (including the sunroof)... I won't compromise again... I want what I want and I'll wait the 12 weeks for it to come in... I'll always order from now on...

The sun damage already on my skin says sunroof not required.

I gotta agree...if you don't use it then it won't be worth much to ya while you own it. And if and when you sell on, the sunroof is not that much of a player in resale value anyway.

Go to KBB or NADAguides and price out a used 2014. See how much the sunroof option is worth on resale. I doubt its worth a whole lot. Its a depreciating asset anyways... why pay MORE money for a feature you don't want just because it might get a 20% return on the investment 5 years down the road?

Sunroofs are HEAT LEAKS, first and foremost....secondly, even when new they CAN leak.

I wouldn't look at a sunroof again if I were you.

I use mine all the time. I went back and forth when ordering and went for it. Very glad I did!

When I bought my previous SUV I thought I wanted a sunroof. I looked for several months to find a used one in the color I wanted, sunroof, in my price range, and in good condition. In the 2 or so years I had it I hardly opened the sunroof. I did a lot at first just because I felt I had to since I searched so long for one. I don't roll down my windows that often either though. I drive mostly highway and just hit the AC. I don't miss it at all now. If the truck is exactly what you want other than the sunroof and your happy with the price I say get it.

so get a dealer installed one for $800-1000, most will even warranty if for the 3 year 36,000 miles.....but it will have to be serviced at their dealership.

FYI......sun roofs/moon roofs are so much better today than they were 15-20 years ago.

I too was a sun roof option or bust buyer on my 2015 sport. My 2010 silverado ltz was just about fully loaded, but it did not have the sunroof....and i wanted it, but I never got one installed bc i was cheap. Everyday since i regretted it. With my Ram sport, luckily I found every option i wanted and the sunroof in my truck. I lucked out to be honest. When i bought this truck, i said i was not settling for an option or two to be missing. The only option my truck doesnt have is the air suspension......and i did not want it, so i got all the options that were important to me.

if you dont mind me asking, how much is your sticker price on the truck? Just curious if $9300 is the best they can do, maybe you go in and ask about the moon roof ( get the price ) and then ask them to knock a few more dollars off the sticker or split the cost of the sun roof.

Some years back I bought a used Grand Cherokee (the model with a Diesel engine). The sun roof didn't work and the dealer agreed to repair it as part of the sale. In the process of repairing the sunroof, the technician broke the windshield (then attempted to deny it - said it was already broken. The dealer replaced it at their cost). 2 months after getting the sunroof fixed, a limb broke from the tree I was parked under and landed right on the sunroof. No damage to the roof but the glass shattered. I never could get all the little bits of glass out of the track...

I put window tint on the replacement glass, both to cut down on the intense Texas sun and to hold all the little bits of glass, should it get broken again.

MSRP 51,500. I got them to include a spray in bed liner and side steps into the price. All together it's really 10k under MSRP. I'm getting $700 less than I wanted for my trade so that's how I came up with $9300 under
MSRP.

I never thought about asking them to add a sunroof. Honestly, I didn't realize that was a possibility. Worth a try!!

When I lived in San diego...having a sunroof on my srt was awesome.
Got back to az...and....not so much lol.
Too freakin hot.

And I did not notice any excessive heat or leaking from my srt while I owned it.

Having said that....it had every option possible you could get and it was great but after a while I found that most of those gadgets and gizmos....never got used!

So that's why I was completly content with my express.

It's got power windows and a/c...I'm a happy camper.

hammer them for more off the sticker. Your close to a very good deal, wait til the last couple days of the month. HOLD OUT !!!!

Its the end of they year and they are going to want to make a deal instead of losing one. Dont take the deal yet, i'm telling you. My Ram was $52.9 k and I got $10k off and FULL blue book on my trade and that was back in April. I signed the papers on the 2nd t last day of the month bc they tipped their hand that they needed to sell about 14 vehicles in the next 48 hours to get their quota in for the month.......You can do a little better.......beleive me. Dont let the excitement of your new truck make you sign a deal too early. If they wont do any more off the sticker, that at the very least they need to split the cost of the sun roof. You are about $1000 away from a good deal this time of year. Right now, its a deal, but i'm telling you, wait till the last two or three days in the month and it will get better. It does come down to the size and volume of your dealer and where you live in the country, but i seriously think you can do a little better. Sorry for turning this into "how good is my deal thread" lol, so use the sunroof as a bargaining chip.

If one goes back and looks at the locations of the "love it" / "forget it" posts, there is a pretty clear grouping,,, 'moderate to cool climates' might like em,, Sun scorched Southerners don't.

Thanks for all of the replies! Just got the call from the dealership that the truck sold last night. The decision has been made for me.

Oh well, the way it goes.
