I just purchased a 2001 dodge ram 1500 4wd with the 5. 2. The truck has sat parked for 2 years. When I bought it I put a battery in it and drove it home although it ran it ran rough with no power. So once I got it home I put some fresh gas in it.changed the plugs wires cap and rotor. Also replaced the air filter, pcv valve and changed the oil.. still runs rough with not much power. When I drive it down the road I get a cel saying misfire on several cylinders. I have not tested fuel pressure yet. But that's what I'm leaning towards. ANY IDEAS from you guys???? I did find a few vacuum leaks and repaired. Not sure what else to do.does anyone have a diagram on the distributor and the firing order so I can make sure I have that right. Thanks again for any help.

Welcome to RF! The 5.2 firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. It should be stamped onto the intake somewhere.

Since it sat for 2 years your emissions system might be clogged you can take your catalytic converter and a big bucket and put water and dawn dish soap and dunk the cat and leave it in the mixture for 24 hours. Replace an o2 sensor to see if that helps.

Why no new spark-plugs? Do a comp test and change those out at the same time.

I don't know how true it is but I heard that some of these trucks don't like plug wires laying on top of or really close to each other. I had the same problem when I got mine and did everything you did and replaced the wire looms and routed everything nice and neat and it fixed it. Like I said don't know how true it is but I mean what could it hurt? 30 minutes of time? Lol

Try this and re-routing the plug wires. Both are (relatively) easy and free.

Gonna have to agree with the easy and free. I also check all the free stuff first no matter how hard it is. Lol
