With 90k miles and a ton of desert driving, she needed new struts and upper control arms. I figured Icon's coil overs with some boxed steel upper control arms would fit my needs. I also decided to finally go with a set of 35's. I love my setup here, no rubbing and the truck keeps her clean look without fender flairs. These are 17x9 wheels with 0mm offset.

Nice! Now you just need some red Ram decals on your grill and tailgate emblems and you’ll be set. Good look.

I was thinking the same, or maybe painted red grill inserts...?

They sell the pig nose grill with painted inserts.

I opted for the eBay replacement

But it’s getting removed, bought the RC grill w/light bar.

My old suspension was soft and had settled a good inch below stock. The new coil-overs are fairly firm but better at soaking up the big bumps. The big 35's are heavy but the shocks seem to be handling them well.

Your truck looks great. Did you do the suspension install yourself? If so, how'd it go for you?

It would have been fairly easy but the strut bushing on the right lower control arm was bad and the bolt had frozen to the inner bolt sleeve (the entire bushing was rotating inside the sleave with the bolt). I had to use the sawzall to cut off the bolt at each end and then remove the entire control arm to disconnect from the strut. Thankfully I had a 36mm socket which matched up well with the bushing and I was able to pound out the old bushing by hand, I tapped in the new bushing with the same socket. What should have been one evening of work turned into two.
The rear, top, shock bolts use inboard nuts up above the frame. I would definitely recommend a set of crowfoot wrenches to get up in there, especially on the driver's side nut which is above the fuel tank.

Just remember that you can rotate the top of the strut/coil-over to match up with the mounting holes. Set the new strut next to old one and mirror the angles.

The install was pretty fun for me and I just used my usual set of sockets with a breaker bar.

The Icon kit seems to be well-engineered.

One funny note, I tried to eyeball the alignment with the cam bolts on the lower control arms but I left the tie rods alone. After install, I drove a couple of miles to the alignment shop with the tires squealing. It was a very slow drive.

Thanks. I hope that I don't have to break out the sawzall on mine. I already have the Thuren rear shock nut set, so I should be good there.

I dig the red accent on the wheels with your white truck came out very nice.
Also nice choice in your suspension. Did you also go with the matching Icon 2.5 rear shocks ?
