Hey guys I am looking into getting new speakers but I want a decent amount of bass. Would speakers swaps in the front and swap out back door speakers for subs sound good with stock head unit?

Not really. The stock speakers are 2 ohm and you will not be able to get 2 ohm speakers that fit. Now replacing the head unit and the speakers will help out immensely. Several manufacturers make a powered sub that can go under your back seat also.

Would just replacing the stock speakers with aftermarket speakers make a big difference in sound quality with the stock head unit? I'd like to d a full sound system one day with subs under my back seats and an amp and whatnot but I just don't have the $ right now. Kinda just looking for a cheaper way to increase sound quality for now with maybe just a little bit more bass if possible

I replaced my stock speakers with Polk audio's and they definitely sound better. 6x9 front, 6.5 rear, stock radio.

The stock dodge speakers have a custom connector on them. If you do not wish to cut the stock wires (which I do not recommend) then you will need to get the adaptors. Crutchfield has the adaptors. Pretty much all the adaptors are is a set of pigtails that plug into the stock harness and give you a pair of wires to connect aftermarket wires to. Here is a link to what I am talking about:
Metra 71-050 Speaker Wiring Adapters Work with select 1999-up Chrysler vehicles — connect new speakers to the factory wiring plugs at Crutchfield.com

I recommend these due to their ease of use and avoidance of cutting the factory wires.

It's hard to get decent bass without a sub at all with this system. I had an 03 ram that I put infinity reference speakers into, and my 05 now I put Memphis audio power reference speakers into it. Both had aftermarket head units. The bass was barely changed from the stock speakers. The problem is the speaker space and air space in the doors. You're extremely limited in baht speakers you can use because of the limited space.

I have a Kenwood head unit, and I put 6x9 3 ways in the front, 5 1/4 2 ways in the back and 4" 2 ways in the dash. I even had the 45w rms alpine head unit amp installed (most head units are 18w rms). The bass response was horrible.

What I ended up doing was add a passenger side rear seat box that housed a regular depth (not shallow) Memphis audio 10" street reference sub powered by a Memphis audio 250w rms amp. After asking around, everyone advised against using a 12" due to limited air space in the under seat boxes.

It sounds very good with this combo. I was hoping the 6x9s would have enough bass that I wouldn't need a sub. I would suggest going with 6 1/2s in here fronts to save a little money and go with the sub. Also, the 4" dash speakers made a huge difference in sound, as most vocals were muffled due to the front speakers being so low.

Hope that helps.

Headunit is a good place to start with my experience or amp the factory speakers. Replacing the speakers might clear things up but you will not be satisfied.

Very true. Replacement speakers are far more clear. But even mapping the stock speakers isn't going to do much.
