Hello all. Recent owner of a new 2018 Ram 2500 Tradesman, 6.7 Cummins, crew cab with ram box. Only options (Snow Chief package 2FA, Popular equipment Group, shift on fly transmission, and the Uconnect 3 with 5" display). Love it, but time for upgrades/mods.

What do I do? Any suggestions welcome.

I have running boards on the way, as well as a BAKFlip Toneau cover.

I'm a little sad the radio doesn't connect to the XM Gardian, so I can have access to those features. Is it worth finding an upgraded factory radio to get that? I was told the upgraded radio has other features like heated seats and such. Is the wiring for those features already installed and it would only take a upgraded radio to work? Or just buy a remote starter and be done?

Is the power sliding rear window wiring in place already? Can I just find a power slider at a junk yard and grab that and the switch to work?

Any other things I should consider?

Is there anything prewired/loaded that only has to be turned on/programmed?

How about changing my open upper glove box to one with a door like the higher trimmed models? easy to do?

Thanks in advance for pointing me to a new and unknown direction.

welcome to the forum! i went the route almost exactly as you. i did, in this order and ...so far:

spray in bed liner and tonneau- same time (dealer)
vinyl protection (i hate seeing all those stone chips on the grill and hood!) dealer
did weston running boards myself
dee zee tailgate assist
new door speakers- made it sound like a new and improved stereo

so basically functional items first.

next i did the muffler (totally just for the sound)
oil catch can (i guess that's functional but is it a must have? i guess it depends who you talk to)

on my wish list:

leveling - for looks honestly but it's likely next. Bilstein 5100s on the front and hopefully that's it.
pedal commander- mixed on it. i went from a v6 150 hp tacoman to a 395 hp hemi. i'm probably good as is)
tires- hopefully i will get a good run with the stock good years or at least 2 years out of them. hate to waste them. too many for sale for dirt online to compete against
leather seat covers front and back. i just love nice leather seats!

as you can see, a stereo is way down on my list. (ctually..not even on my list) i've looked at aftermarkets, i've looked at mopar upgrades and other mopar like upgrades and i just can't justify the coin for the result. maybe its because the 5.0 is my first touch screen, backup camera, blue tooth, voice command, sirius and usb enabled radio and that's a big enough jump from my 2003 tacoma 4 speaker radio with a cd player. lol. plus..and a big plus for me..i don't hear pple complaining about the 5.0 having the gremlins that it seems a lot of the 8.4's do? i'm assuming those 8.4's that are being sold on ebay and amazon and other sites are refurbs cause i believe they are the Mopar radios? If so, there seems to be a lot of refurbs out there. in any case, I like my 5.0. it works..and new door speakers bring it to life in a dramatic way.
