Nice! I was just reading up on some of those bed campers for the future. How much does that thing weigh? How's it ride?

I was looking at the specs on some of the new ones and they are a bit heavier than I expected. Some are pushing 3000-3500 lbs loaded. And even with the higher payload ratings our Hemi HD's, they tap out on load limits really quick due to the center of gravity of these bed campers.

I'm guessing this one will come in around #1500 loaded. It's really stripped down. Just a fridge and A/C. Dry weight lists at #800. I'm going over scales Monday sometimes I'll know more then. Had the cruise set between 70 & 80 on the ride back (~ 750 mi.) and the evic said 11.8 mpg. Truck handles fine. I know it's up there but it doesn't feel overly weird. Kind of like a box truck with a lot of ass under the hood and tighter suspension.

11.8 mpg, that's great. That's nice & light.

I think I read that our trucks with coil suspension are limited to just under 2200 lbs for those types of campers, so you have plenty of room for gear.

Yeah, I miss that smooth coil ride. Been a while since I had leaves but having the extra payload makes it worth the trade off.
