hey guys I’m looking to buy a new touchscreen stereo (Ken wood DDX9904s) and it said it’s a “modified fit”. I’m not really sure how one of those things would fit without having to buy a different bezel? So that’s my question, do you have to buy a new bezel that’ll fit a nearly 7” screen?

I haven’t changed my radio but I believe there is a metal cross brace that needs to be cut (with tin snips) if you are installing a non-OEM, aftermarket radio.

Its pretty straightforward. Dash kit, Interface Harness (The iDatalink is the best for OE integration) and cutting that brace. If you order from Crutchfield it will come with all the accessories required as well as instructions for dealing with that brace.

My main concern was the overall size of the new unit does not look like it would fit into this existing stock console...

Any double din will fit perfect height wise. The installation kit will come with a filler piece for each side of the radio.

If you want to stay OEM look for a 430 or 430N from a similar year RAM (Dodge). This model has the separate Bluetooth module which is similar to the 130 RES. If you do not have BT then a 730N has built in BT but needs more work to install the proper microphone and wiring.

ON EDIT> checked your pic better and see you have the hands free keys so the 430 should work with the least amount of work.

Just switched out 130 for a 430N RHB. Can anyone give me a list of what additional equipment I need to add backup camera and enable uconnect bluetooth? Thank you

I had one of those in my first '09 - just because the keys are there doesn't mean they work. They on all of the stereos, but Uconnect or BT have to be installed activated to work.

Check out Infotainment.com. I got my OEM 2018 8.4 UAS head unit from them and installed in my tradesman. NJ ow, I have the backup camera on a bigger screen and apple CarPlay and android play, too.

For those that installed aftermarket touchscreen radios.....do all the steering wheel controls work just as if you had an OEM radio?

Generally you are going to need to buy a separate interface like a PAC or Maestro interface adapter. I installed a PAC on my Pioneer and all the steering wheel controls work.
