I was looking over my new Wells Cargo trailer and realized that the break-away system does not have a built in charger. As such, the battery would need to be removed to be charged. I guess I assumed that the + feed from the truck would charge the battery. However, the battery is not connected to the + feed.
In doing some research, I found a Hopkins 20007 charger that can be wired in. I wish the dealer would have pointed this out. If the battery isn't charged, the break-away system is useless. I assume the "higher end" trailers come with chargers built in.
Thoughts?
