I’m a first time truck owner; wanted one for many years; been doing upgrades such as running boards and a Line-X liner. I have more cash to cautiously blow and want a lift kit. There’s a well-known shop here in Ft. Lauderdale with exceptional reviews. I stopped by and the owner asked, “Do you want a 4” or 7” lift kit”. I told him a 7 inch and he quoted me 2K which includes parts and labor. Even though I have the knowledge and tools to do this myself, it’s more cost-effective for me to pay the 2K. Although I intend to drive this in a straight line and on pavement, I like the menacing look of a lifted truck. I’ve been reading and continue to read related threads on this subject.
So; being a 2017, Ram 1500, Big Horn, 2-W-Drive, Crew Cab, Bed: 6’,4”, used at 27K miles:
Does this void the factory warranty?
Am I going overkill with a 7 inch lift? (I measured various heights and seems OK to me)
Can I go higher the 7 inches? (Would I want to?)
Will my truck look goofy at a 7 inch lift with stock tires (20 inch rims). Eventually I would spend the money for larger tires.
How will this lift affect the center of gravity and handling?
