I'v had my 07 quad cap for a year now and thinking about Diesels ,what year do you guys think is the best.I really dont want to go older then my truck now but people are saying 05 was the best year for the dodge diesel.I just dont want all the up keep I just replaced my alternator that month and both front bearings this month and a battery,by not buying newer i'm stuck doing all those repairs with the diesel.I was looking at 2011 and like it but still not sure....

get out there to dealerships and start test driving. In the end it all comes down to you and what your comfortable with comfortable driving. Dont forget to get a CARFAX! 99% of places will give you this for free, but that will give you a start on how.. if any repairs have been done to the vehicle and when. That can sort of tell you how much maintenance your going to have to do or have coming up.
